I received the on-demand production CD from the XTT merch shop and for the most part I am satisfied but the CD art itself is missing elements and there is text cut off in the song titles and the there is text off centered on the back cover. I plan on addressing it with the company but I am still excited to have it, anyway, check it out, I dig it and I plan on tweaking the art work layout.
Here is my seventh song I fretted for Frets on Fire, I am running out of songs with vocals to fret, anyway this has the easy, medium, hard and expert difficulties and it is a a strait forward and fun song to rock out to with a grunge feel to it, This is also a very simple and great song to exercise your fingers with. Anyway, feel free to download it and rock out to it, Enjoy! Peace.

This is a Reggae type song I recorded the music to a few weeks ago and my wife finally laid down the vocals, I am really happy with the way it came out. The guitar and bass is yours truly and the drums are the EZDrummer rock/pop kit sequenced by me, hope you enjoy the reggae sounds, the influences are Bob Marley, Sublime and The Police. Hope you enjoy it, peace!
I made this song for fun, Its I get money by 50 Cent, I am not really all that happy with my vocals cause I think I suck at vocals but I been wanting to see what it would be like, so I made this is little heavy metal’d up version of it, So far got some good responses over at iCompositions.com
I was setting up more music profiles on indie music host sites and I found this great site in japan, I posted up the song Black and Blue there, I am very excited!, The site is both in japanese and English! I am going to upload a bunch more there!
Seems like a cool comminty and I like the approach of how it presents the music!
Not long ago my 20 year old drum machine broke, it will not power on. At first I was very upset about and I started shopping around for something to replace it because I felt I was on a creative streak of writing new songs and it turned out to be a blessing because I discovered EZ Drummer by Toontrack. I shopped around quite a bit and read many reviews and I found a cost effective solution which was the Korg Nanopad and it came with EZ Drummer Lite Software which is a plug in for recording software like garage band, logic, ableton Live and many others and within a couple of days (in my spare time) I had the hang of it and pumped out 5 songs in a fraction of the time it took with my drum machine not to mention all the pre made midi beats that it comes with make it that much easier too.
So at this point I highly recommend it to any musician and if your a drummer don’t get your panties caught in a bunch because you can make your drum kit electronic and have perfect quality sounds if you record with it.
If your not convinced just go to toontrack.com and watch the video’s and from there you will see the power of toontracks software and not to mention the support portal and forum has not let me down yet and actually impressed me.
I tried about 3 other softwares demo’s that compete but there is no comparison toontrack is on the top of the pile.
Just an update that I completed making 9 ruff draft instrumentals and one song with vocals that will be re-recorded and I am pretty happy with 7 of the 9 songs where there will be minor changes and add-ons to most and the 2 songs I am unhappy with I plan on making bigger changes hopefully for the better.
So far it took about a month to write the songs but if I added up the time I took I would say 24 hours, if that, for programming the drum machine and actually laying down the tracks. The vocals for “Warning” took a couple of hours because I was winging it with the software I am still learning and so was rick just learning the song.
The reviews on garageband.com (please do not confuse with garage band software from apple) have been pretty good other than the recording quality comments which there should be significant changes as far as recording quality and I have some tricks up my sleeve since I am learning more with each song I record.
I have a big container of old jam cassettes and a shoe box of four track cassettes I am converting to MP3 format, so I was forced to buy a Yamaha MT120 that I found with luck on craigslist and thankfully it is like brand new, my old one got corroded in a flood in my old basement when I lived in NJ, I plan on posting a bunch of stuff here soon so stay on the look out!
