I been playing Guitar Hero and Rock band these days and I stumbled upon Frets on Fire which is a free for PC, Mac and Linux. I also discovered that you can add your own custom songs and I was motivated to add my own music, and after a couple of days of learning and plenty of trial and error I got my first song up, “Warning”, I spent countless hours with what is called “Fretting” my song, and finally I think I have a good version that is somewhat on time. Anyway, below is a video of what it looks like, and if you like the Frets on Fire version of the song it is available for download, please feel free to check it out and tell me what you think.
Reverb Nation has a cool new store feature and I took advantage of it, I made some t-shirts, a hoody and a hat and an album, although you can download any of my tunes for free and rip your own CD, I just figured it would be proper to create an album for promo purposes. anyway if you want to support the music and purchase any of my products just go to my merch shop and check it out.
Anyway, below is the current artwork for the album but I plan on tweaking it and adding a couple more songs, enjoy!
iCompositions has well over 90,000 members and many conversations have been had between members about how powerful iCompositions could be as a community if everyone rallied together to plug and promote one project. The internet has opened up a vast amount of opportunities for independent musicians and music lovers alike and in 2009 Rage Against The Machine were propelled to the Christmas number 1 spot in Britain all because of a campaign on Facebook to get them there. The Global Conspiracy Project aims to use a similar model to promote and sell a charity song, written, performed and promoted by iCompositions members to raise well needed money for SOS Children’s Villages who look after orphans in over 124 countries worldwide, including a massive campaign to help the children who have lost their parents in the recent Haiti earthquakes. http://www.sos-childrensvillages.org
The Global Conspiracy Project has the official backing of iCompositions.com and has distribution to iTunes and other download sites through Patch Records for the song “Many Hands Many Voices” that is currently being produced by a large number of iCompositions members. The song has already visited every habitable continent on the planet, making stops in England, France, Australia, Argentina, India, South Africa and America so far. It features both well-known and not-so-well-known iComp artists and has been a true collaboration spanning the 4 corners of the globe.
How Can I Help?
If you would like to be involved in The Global Conspiracy Project, there are many things that you can do to help. Unfortunately there is only limited space for the amount of musicians that can work on a single five minute song, but for all you budding singers, there is a large choir piece that you can join in on here: http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=133260 – This will form the outro of the song.
What we really need are enthusiastic people who are prepared to plug and promote the project through any means possible. You could:
• Add links from your personal website, myspace, facebook or twitter pages to www.icompositions.com/artists/GlobalConspiracyProject
• Add this page to your favourites
• Tell your friends and family – e-mail everyone you know!
• Make a video
• Design a flyer or poster
• Get your local TV, radio or press involved
…or any other creative ways you can think of to raise awareness of what we are trying to achieve. We can supply you with web banners, logos, pictures and other information, so drop us a message here if you require anything to work with to help this project progress!
I made this simple tutorial for fun to demonstrate how easy it is to make/edit a midi beat using EZDrummer with garageband 3 on Mac OSX tiger. I have been using it for about 5 months now and I feel really comfortable with it, check out this tutorial I made to see how easy it is.
I received an email invite for a new indie host called GotSeeN.com, I joined right away and made my profile and so far it is pretty cool, the admins are very proactive and it is a nice and simple to use interface with a simplified JamRoom interface on the back end that is becoming common with many indie hosts these days and it doesn’t have all the extra stuff that many of the other site leave on. anyway, it has a nice community feel to it more than the usual rat race of artist trying to get signed which is the main thing I like about icompositions.com as well and I believe it is based out of the the UK which is cool cause I only know of a few sites from the UK so far, anyway I recommend setting up a profile on this site for indie artists, good stuff.
I received an email from music alley that said my song “cookie monster” I posted on music alley was featured on Comics Coast to Coast Podcast, and naturally I am excited about it, they end off the show with “cookie monster” and play it about 52 minutes into the podcast and on top of that they featured my song on the homepage of the site as “Music to Draw By”, totally cool stuff and I listened to the show and it is pretty funny and very cool!
you can listen to the show, download it and add it to itunes here or just listen in the player below:

I made this song for fun, Its I get money by 50 Cent, I am not really all that happy with my vocals cause I think I suck at vocals but I been wanting to see what it would be like, so I made this is little heavy metal’d up version of it, So far got some good responses over at iCompositions.com
I was setting up more music profiles on indie music host sites and I found this great site in japan, I posted up the song Black and Blue there, I am very excited!, The site is both in japanese and English! I am going to upload a bunch more there!
Seems like a cool comminty and I like the approach of how it presents the music!
I setup a bunch of profiles on indy music hosting sites and DMusic.com was one of them, I received an email from them saying they added XTT as a featured artist on the homepage and as you can imagine I am psyched! dmusic has actually been around for a long time, I dont think it started out as an indy host but now I got my eye on them. XTT’s profile is there located at http://xtt.dmusic.com/
check the screen shot below to see what I am talking about!
Thanks for visiting! Renato Music is a site dedicated to the music created or co-created by Renato Ferraz. The latest project is called XTT and all things XTT can be found here. All music downloads are FREE and I don't think I will ever sell the music and just keep it free, perhaps just T-shirts and maybe one day concert tickets. Rock On!
